I believe that my second project in this class was my best writing regarding drafting, revising, and overall development. My essay, titled ” The Digital Age: The Era We All Are Living In”, is a paper about the horrifying effects of excessive smart phone usage and how to protect our present and future selves we need to do make a change. I wrote this paper in 3 different drafts. The first one being a 400-word draft that consisted of jumbled thoughts and unfinished sentences. The second draft was 800 words and had a lot more structure and thought to it than the previous draft. The third draft was my final draft. This final draft was revised by me, my peer review group, and my writing fellow Anjana. With all these drafts and various people looking over my work the development of my essay was very well thought out and carefully gone over. In this essay I used the works of Sherry Turkle and Jonathan Haidt to support my claims while also incorporating both of their perspectives into conversation. I believe that I used both authors ideas and my own very well and in a way that was easy for the reader to understand.
